Our four parishes are blessed to have vibrant Youth Ministries! These programs are open to teens in grades 6-12.
Here are our Youth Ministry offerings with registration information and meeting schedules:
Ignite: IGNITE is a dynamic youth experience that engages Grades 6-12. IGNITE is a relationship-based experience. It focuses on cultivating personal relationships with peers, while seeking to ‘ignite’ an encounter with the Living God. These good bonds help form the beginning of a life-long personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and those who also follow Him. IGNITE provides an opportunity for our young people to gather in a recreational social setting, while also providing essential time in Adoration before Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist, where they will learn how to pray. IGNITE reminds us that a personal relationship with Jesus is the vital spark for many good things such as: making good wholesome decisions, being a committed and joyful Christian disciple in the world, remaining faithfully connected to Jesus at Holy Mass and the Sacraments throughout life, being a light amid darkness, and for fulfilling the Lords own desire that we set the world on fire with His love. IGNITE is led by Fr. Justin Miller and a team of area adult youth ministers who will provide a ministry of presence and support. They rely on the fire of the Holy Spirit and the help of our patron and champion of youth, Pope St. John Paul II
When: Every 1st Friday of the month @ 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Where: We will meet at Holy Cross School Gym. *We will conclude in Holy Cross Church.
Opening Session for 2025-26: October 3rd, 2025
Holy Cross/Mother of Sorrows Youth Group: Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for faith, fun and friendship! We meet monthly at Mother of Sorrows on Friday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm and at Holy Cross on Sunday mornings from 11:15 - 12:30 pm.
CYO Basketball and Cheerleading: The CYO Basketball program will be starting soon for 2025/26 season. In-person registrations will determine the number of teams St. Lawrence Parish will have at each level of play. Eligibility - 3rd thru 12th Grade Boys & Girls - Families registered as Parishioners of St Lawrence Church and families attending St. Lawrence School - Families registered at nearby parishes that do not offer a CYO program Please Note……in many cases, we will have multiple teams at a grade level. Additional coaches may be needed. If you are unable to attend the registration nights, contact Donna Gray at or 585-225-1485. Registrations will be held in the gym (enter through north entrance of the school building) Please be prepared to fill out paperwork, including a Health form, and have payment ready for the registration fee. Parents, please accompany your older kids to registration night as the paperwork needs your signature. Registration dates are: 1) Monday October 6th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. 2) Thursday, October 9th from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
